Online Study Course for Accreditation Examination
Now Offers Savings for Candidates and Chapters

NEW YORK , August 8, 2006 – Candidates for the Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations can take advantage of a new discount and rebate program for the online study course offered by the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB).

The course, which is available at http://www.online2learn.net/APR/, costs $195 for a one-year subscription for UAB participating organization members and $295 for non-members. The new program offers both chapters and individuals an opportunity to save money by registering as a group. Chapters that recruit five candidates for the online study course can receive a $100 rebate for the chapter. If a chapter passes the savings along to its members, each candidate in a group of five receives a $20 discount on the course.

“There are tremendous benefits to candidates who work through the online course as a group, since they can study together and provide support and encouragement to each other,” said Mary Graybill, APR, UAB chairman. “This program offers a good incentive for chapters to encourage their members to work toward earning their Accreditation in Public Relations. The preparation process for earning the APR designation is an invaluable professional development opportunity, and the rewards make the hard work worthwhile.”

The online course offers candidates a multimedia opportunity to review the knowledge, skills and abilities covered in the Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations. Course content is presented in 10 modules that are narrated by Accredited public relations professionals. Participants learn through self-study, group discussions, assignments and Web conferences with other participants. Candidates can complete the course at their own pace. Technical and subject matter assistance is readily available to participants. UAB and the Public Relations Society of America developed the course in collaboration with Point-Productions to offer another preparation tool for the Readiness Review and the computer-based Examination.
